About Us

There is only 32% percent of the population that actually recycles in the world. Modern leather manufacturing recycles around 270 million cowhides a year but over 300 million pairs of shoes get thrown away each year. That is a lot of shoes! Jt Leather Crafter was opened in 2020 and is a small Female owned business that helps the world become just a little bit better just by fixing and re-crafting Leather goods that people wear on a day to day basis.  Ever since I was a little kid I grew up around the cobbler industry as well as the tailoring industry and my dad was the cobbler and my mom was a tailor and together they owned a business.

Between the ages of 10 - 13 my family opened a second location and during that time my parents got a divorce and my mom got sick with MS. Closing her tailor shop for good. The very first business was given down to my oldest brother while my dad continued to work at the new location. My brother relocated that business From Aurora Colorado to Denver Colorado so that we were closer to the office building to get more people to notice us. At the age of 16 and 17 I was homeschooled and in high school and at the time my brother needed help with stitch repair work. I accepted as I was trying to figure out a career path at the time and was running a small Etsy store where I made and sold items.

At the age of 18 and 19 we yet again had to move the shop as the restaurant next door wanted to expand. We at least had to move one unit down from out original unit. I finally got a part time job at Boot Barn and it was time for me to move out and start my life. I was working 7 days a week. 4 Of those days I worked at my 9 to 5 job and the other 2 days I would be working at my brothers and on Sundays I took things home with me to work on personal project at the time I was working on making an eel skin jacket for myself. 2020 was the year I finally decided to quit Boot Barn after 2 years and I started working at my brothers shop full time. Yet again we moved the shop. Yes, we moved it a lot as prices to rent a business unit was going up. We moved a little bit closer to down town Denver but were still near the busy streets and office areas. With this move I wanted to go big I wanted to start making custom items like the eel skin jacket. I wanted to make exotic designer handbags too. I still want to! But…Things changed.

  • Year 2022 our father passed away on 09/28/2022 due to a heart attack. My brother took over the new business and I finally decided to take my own steps in creating my own business and having my own staff.I didn’t want to work for someone. I didn’t want to make someone else rich. I wanted to create something that would be my own and that was now and still is Jt Leather Crafter LLC. We grow every single day and every single day is a new experience as we are capable of fixing leather goods from a simple stitch to customizing Leather Goods. We are currently working in a small home and do not have a store front but have people still drop off and ship to us from all over the United States. Thank you to everyone who has helped us grow and thank you to the new people that find us every single day. Thank you for supporting a small business.
